Profile • Langston Hughes was born in St. Paul, Minnesota in 1902. • Hughes started writing poems at an early age expressing his feelings he had towards the world. • Langston Hughes is famous because he was a well known poet in New York City, predominately Harlem.
Continued • Langston Hughes’ life and work he did was enormously important in shaping artistic contributions of the Harlem Renaissance. • People of Harlem and all over the United States related to Langston because he told stories of people in ways that reflected their culture. • Langston Hughes passed away in 1966 because of complications of prostate cancer.
