  1. ACAT Student Mobility Reports: Step-by-Step Guide Student Yearly Enrolment Tracking

  2. ACAT Student Mobility Reports:Student Yearly Enrolment Tracking • Welcome to one of the step-by-step user guides for the Alberta Council on Admissions and Transfer’s (ACAT’s) first three new Student Mobility Reports! • The new reports contain information regarding student enrolment flow and tracking for public post-secondary institutions and the six sectors in Alberta. • These reports use Learner and Enrolment Reporting System (LERS) system data, which has been signed off by public post-secondary institutions, supporting easy access to existing data. LERS system data includes data regarding all approved programs reported in LERS by publicly funded post-secondary institutions in Alberta’s six sectors.

  3. ACAT Student Mobility Reports:Student Yearly Enrolment Tracking • The first three new mobility reports are: • Institution and Sector Student Enrolment Flow reports, which provide student enrolment flows into, within, and out of Alberta’s public post-secondary institutions and six sectors for a given academic year. These reports target the most recent, complete LERS system data set available (inflow to and outflow from the 2010/2011 cohort year). • A Student Yearly Enrolment Track by Post-Secondary Institution report, which provides tracking of student enrolment in public post-secondary institutions by academic year. This report looks back six years from the most current, valid LERS data available for a student cohort (2011/2012 cohort year). • Report updates will occur on a yearly basis as new LERS data is available and will maintain consistent templates.

  4. ACAT Student Mobility Reports:Student Yearly Enrolment Tracking • This PowerPoint will now provide a brief step-by-step user guide to walk you through the Student Yearly Enrolment Track by Post-Secondary Institution report. • Please note that to provide the following illustrative examples regarding the contents of this report, this presentation uses examples of real University of Lethbridge (U. of L.) institution information, which is available on ACAT’s website alongside the reports for other public institutions.

  5. University of Lethbridge: 2011-12 Student Cohort: 9,340 Student Yearly Enrolment Tracking This report reflects tracking of student enrolment records at an institution (e.g., U. of L.) for a specific student cohort (e.g., 2011/12), identified by the highlighted section. Examples are provided on the next slide to illustrate the information in this table.

  6. University of Lethbridge: 2011-12 Student Cohort: 9,340 Student Yearly Enrolment Tracking • Interpreting the Table: • This report reflects tracking of student enrolment records at an institution (e.g., U. of L.) for a specific student cohort (e.g., 2011/12), identified by the highlighted section. All the data in the columns for the preceding academic years (e.g., 2006-2011) reflect where students were enrolled prior to the U. of L. for the highlighted cohort year. • 2011/12 data in the last column reflect enrolment in the U. of L. in the highlighted cohort year (e.g., 9,340 students), as well as additional 2011/12 enrolment records for these same students at other institutions.

  7. University of Lethbridge: 2011-12 Student Cohort: 9,340 Student Yearly Enrolment Tracking • Interpreting the Table: • Of the 9,340 students at U. of L. in 2011-12, 2,433 were enrolled at the U. of L. in 2008-09. • Of the 9,340 students at the U. of L. in 2011-12, 64 of these students were enrolled at Red Deer College in 2007-08. • Of the 9,340 students at the U. of L. in 2011-12, 213 of these students were also enrolled at Lethbridge College.
