A video on droughts http://video.nationalgeographic.com/video/player/environment/environment-natural-disasters/landslides-and-more/droughts.html Droughts are caused when there is a lack of rain over along period of time. Fresh water animals are disappearing 5 times faster than land animals. Most of worlds people must walk at least 3 hours to fetch water.

Each day almost 10,000 children under the age of 5 in the third world countries die as a result of polluted water.

  4. The need for conservation The growing human population is continuously increasing the stress on the forest for wood products including fuel for cooking building, and heating. This is a picture of a dude conserving the forest. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tnFi_T-L13E

  7. 2/3 of earths surface consists of water. 3% of earth’s water is drinking water. 97% of the total water on earth is salt water. While 3% of earths water is fresh water. Out of that 3% less than 1% is fresh drinking water while the other 2% is frozen in ice caps.

  8. *It takes 1,500 gallons of water to process one barrel of beer. *It takes 120 gallons of water to produce of egg. *About 6,800 gallons of water is needed to produce food for a family of four for one day. *It takes 1,850 gallons of water to refine one barrel of oil.

  9. Experiment Adjust a water faucet so that it will drip water slowly. Set a container underneath the faucet and collect the dripping water for 5 minutes. Turn off the faucet. Then use the graduated cylinder to measure how much water dripped. Multiply the amount by 12 to determine how much water would drip in one hour. Then divide it by 1000 to convert it to liters.
