Benefits of Mud • Connecting children to the nature • Contains nutrients and various minerals which our body absorbs easily • The minerals in mud are highly effective for oil absorption and for toning the skin (reduce a sign of aging) • Anti-inflammatory agent for skin disorders • Anti-depressants • A beauty and relaxation tool

  4. Imagine if you could not play in mud! The story of mud day is a story of how two groups of children from different continents and cultures help one another connect with nature

  5. We cannot play in mud! Children in Nepal do not play in mud because of lack of clothing and soap!

  6. The Project Bold Park, Australia

  7. The Project…Bold Park • Gillian returned to Australia and the children at Bold Park began a project. • They raised $1,000 AUS for extra clothing and meals • This enables the children of Nepal to experiment with playing in MUD. • They choose to play in MUD the same day!

  8. Mud Day in Nepal Targeted 58 orphan children Goal was to bring the children a step closer to Mother Nature

  12. The Dilemma! Boys and girls dressed in new, clean game clothes To stay clean? Or get dirty?

  13. What Happened? When the whistle blew to jump in…no one jumped! The adult organizer jumped Children hesitated

  14. The Reaction Boys (in red) became carefree Girls (in blue) were hesitant

  15. Happy… Soon everyone was splashing and playing happily

  16. A Few Stories Boy changed from disgusted to smiling Girl afraid of earthworms changed to interested

  17. Clean Up The children were happy, relaxed and attached to their dirty clothes!

  18. Conclusion Rich, joyous experience for children, locals and visitors on both continents Children continue to ask questions about soil, mud, water, earthworms, etc. Mud Day a big success and lived up to its objective
