“Wonderment at the mysteries of Christ’s words and works is one of the threads that runs through Luke’s Gospel.” • People often respond by praising or blessing God. Wonder, marvel, amaze, astonishment.
“The child’s father and his mother marveled at what was said about him.” • Simeon’s pronouncement of the child to be a light to the Gentiles and glory to Israel. Luke 2:33
“Everyone who heard him was amazed at his understanding and his answers. When his parents saw him, they were astonished.” • When he was 12 at the temple in Jerusalem. Luke 2:47-48
