Example: • “Poppy put the quill back in her sash, she was hoping she would never have to use it.” • Onomatopoeia • Onomatopoeia is the sound occurring throughout the story. Example: • “Whoosh! Mr. Ocax dove in at Poppy.”

Climax and Conflict • Climax • Climax is the most exciting or scariest part of the story. • In Poppy, it is when she is fighting Mr. Ocax with the quill. • Conflict • Conflict is the problem in the story. • In Poppy, Mr. Ocax wanted to eat Poppy. • Also, Mr. Ocax won’t let Poppy and her family move to New House.
