Lake Clark is in south Alaska Lake Clark is about 4 million acres
Lake Clark I chose Lake Clark because it has outdoor activities like fishing, hunting, wildlife viewing, rafting, backpacking and more. Lake Clark has a cold climate but you could still have lots of fun.
Wolves Canis Lupus • Wolves have whitish fur to blend in with its surroundings in its winter climate. • They also have sharp teeth to tare up their food. • In Alaska the wolves main food is Caribou.
Sockeye Salmon Oncorhynchusnerka • The Sockeye Salmon grow quickly in the sea reaching 4 to 8 pounds in 1 to 4 years. • Depending on a females size it produce from 2,000 to 4,500 eggs. • The Sockeye Salmon can survive in both fresh and salt water.
Grizzly Bear Ursusarctos Grizzly bears have strong teeth and jaws to make sure their prey doesn’t get away. They also have sharp claws to rip open their prey. The Grizzly Bear has a big hump at the shoulders that changes the way they look.
Dall Sheep Ovisdalli Dall Sheep eat grasses, sedges, board-leaved plants, and dwarf willows. The sheep live mostly above timberline ridges, dry meadows, and steep mountain slopes The sheep rarely venture far from this rugged terrain, using it to escape predators such as Wolves, Golden Eagles, Bears, and Humans.
Wild Chive This is a tasty herb that can grow up to 2 ½ feet tall. Mountain Harebell Wild Iris This is a very small alpine plant 2 to 4’’. The Iris grows in bogs or meadows across Alaska.
Lake Clark’s interior can get as low as -40 degrees • Berries are an important food for the Dena’inaAthabascan people of the Lake Clark region.
