  2. He ran, v. 17 • James 4:13-17 • Matthew 24:42-44

  3. He ran to Jesus, v. 17 • John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. • John 6:63, 68 • Acts 4:12 Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”

  4. He humbled himself, v. 17 • James 4:6b “God resists the proud,But gives grace to the humble.” • Matthew 18:1-4

  5. Jesus is Deity, v. 18 • John 1:1-3, 14 • John 8:58 Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM.”

  6. Keep the commandments to inherit eternal life, v. 19-20 • Matthew 19:17 So He said to him, “Why do you call Me good?[a] No one is good but One, that is, God. But if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments.” • John 14:21-24 • James 1:21-25

  7. Jesus told him the truth he needed to hear, v. 21 • Jesus knew his heart. John 2:23-25, Mark 2:8 • Truth sets us free. John 8:31-36 • Lies do not. 2 Timothy 4:1-4, Romans 16:17-18, Jeremiah 6:13-14, 2 Peter 3:16-17

He went away sorrowful, v. 22 • Acts 17:30 Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent, • Romans 6:4 Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

  9. Be Saved Today! • Believe – John 8:24 • Confess – Matthew 10:32-33 • Repent – Luke 13:3 • Be Baptized – Mark 16:16 • Be Faithful – Revelation 2:10
