The Vision for the Alliance Mission of the Alliance • Maximise the sustainability of the built environment Benefits of the Alliance • Provide you with access to comprehensive data, benchmarking, advice, research, training and information • Maximise your financial return on investments • Manage the performance of your assets • Assist in reducing the associated risk of your assets Organisations within the Alliance • Joint initiative for world leading centres of scientific excellence, GBCs, real estate owners, developers, funders and investors • Managed by BRE Trust (independent charity organisation)

Alliance Workshop Objectives • Outline the key objectives of the Alliance • Hear first hand from industry leaders • Setout the current progress of the Alliance • Opportunity to discuss scope and objectives • - Common sustainability KPI’s • Reporting and benchmarking capabilities • Holistic certification standard • Driving sustainability within the built environment.

International Sustainability Alliance • take responsibility for the built environment, join the International Sustainability Alliance and assist in leading the way for the future by; • … combining forces with multinational / international companies, Green Building Councils, research institutes and other key stakeholders…. • … drive towards one single European certification standard, adaptable to local market conditions…. • … expanding on the current BREEAM system and create a 3rd Generation System for the market and industry • … assist in the development of “open source methodology”… Eco-Investment: There is a need for more data and analysis to further investigate the added value and cost benefit.

  9. Why Eco-Investment? • Higher rents • Increased occupancy rates • 10% more efficient building rents for 3% more. • A cap rate of 5.5% on energy efficiency improvements There is a need for more data and analysis to further investigate the link and to expand it across Europe

  10. How the ISA will help • Developing the data collection portal • Standardised, transparent, consistent CSR reporting • Robust independent standard • Internationally accepted metrics • Robust data to support research and analysis
