  2. Purpose Our primary objective is have students of the University of California Merced support the activism of sustainability. In order to achieve this goal, we the students of UC Merced must promote the awareness of sustainability to the general public.

  3. Purpose (Motive) Our ambition is to reduce the cost and consumption of our everyday resources. Such as electricity, water, paper(trees), oil, glass, plastic, and money. What we pursuit is a 100% sustainable campus(2020) We strongly encourage and endorse the acts of recycling. Why?•Minimizes the amount of resources we drain from the environment.•Depresses the cost of producing new goods.•Allows us to reuse the materials .•Grants us a cleaner environment to live in.

  4. Purpose • (Motive) Advocate less energy consumption. When not using it is recommended to: • Turn off TV’s and computer monitors. • Unplug chargers and other appliances. • Switch off lights when the room/area is vacant. • Disable alarm clocks, internet modem/router, automated water sprinkler(rainy days). •Less usage of elevators, walking is healthier.

Purpose • (Motive) Other types of conservation to promote an eco-friendly environment: Water: •Less laundry(compile a larger accumulation rather than multiple small loads ) •Take shorter showers. Oil & Plastic: •Less use of Vehicles(Hybrids rec.) – Bike/walk! •Less purchase of plastic materials – difficult to recycle Paper: •Don’t print unnecessary documents/information. •Buy Used-Textbooks rather new ones.

  6. What We Know • Majority of students(on-campus) don’t fully comprehend the definition of sustainability. • Lack of conserving energy and water.-Not turning off lights when not in use.-Excessive amount of laundry than necessary. • Students(off-campus) are less efficient in recycling. • Continuous drainage of chargers & other appliances when plugged and not in use. • Non-energy conserving Light bulbs. Compact Fluorescent (CLF) than Incandescent.

  7. Method of Achievement Our motive is to compel the students of UC Merced with the knowledge and attentiveness of the Go-Green Up campaign. Course of Action:1) Create and distribute fliers.2) Approaching & Surveying(pledge) students.

  8. Method of Achievement (Fliers) •In order to spread the word of our cause, we’ve constructed Fliers that are to be distributed. •Additional fliers will be stationary on walls or tables for students and bystanders to take notice.

  14. Method of Achievement (Surveys) •Approaching students with a survey and pledge regarding the ideal of sustainability. •In additional to the provided information we hope to acquire a signature as commitment and dedication in the support of sustainability.
