The Course—Intro Stats • Not as challenging as college-level statistics, but covers many of the same topics. • Providing a good foundation for all later work in college-level statistics • Taking notes and keeping up with vocabulary every day • Understanding concepts. Apply them statistically through classwork & homework Introduction to Statistics
The Course—Intro Stats—Semester 1 • Construct and interpret graphs • Bar Chart, Pie Chart, Dotplot, Stemplot, Boxplot, Histogram, Scatterplot • Summarize single & dual variable data • Std Deviation, Normal Distribution, Correlation, Regression • Understand surveys & experimental data • Simple Random Sampling methods Introduction to Statistics

The Rules • Be respectful of teacher and fellow students • No foul language of any kind—watch out for words that are on my ‘do not say’ list. I’ll tell you; don’t use them again. • Be safe; be on time • Be in your seat when the tardy bell rings • Don’t talk out of turn • Raise you hand to speak Introduction to Statistics
More Rules • No personal grooming; grooming belongs in the bathroom in a classroom • No gum. Get rid of it before I get upset • No electronic equipment of any kind, including cell phones & ipods, except for your calculator • No name calling physical contact or making fun of anyone in class • No bathroom breaks; you have 6 min between classes for that • Obey all normal rules outlined in the WHS Student Handbook Introduction to Statistics
Tardy Policy • On the 3rd tardy to class during a semester, I will give warning • On the 4th tardy to class, I will deduct 2 points from your next test score • For all tardies after the 4th, I will continue to deduct 2 points from your next test score. Introduction to Statistics
