Objectives, Time frame • Under the South East Europe Transnational Cooperation Programme • Objectives: to contribute to the sustainable development of the Danube area by means of the joint elaboration of a strategy for tourism and of pilot projects for different special areas • Timeframe: May 2009 – February 2012

Pilot Projects • Lower Ipoly / Ipel (Slovakia – Hungary) New Perspectives after Schengen • 2. Béda – Karapancsa: • Tourism as a way to overcome deprivation • (Tri-state area of Croatia, Hungary, Serbia)
Pilot Projects 3. Vidin – Calafat: rural tourism for urban citizens (Bulgaria – Romania) 4. The Deltas (nature conservation and eco-tourism Po Delta and Danube Delta) 5. Greenway (routes for non-motorised tourism along the river Danube)
PARTNERS • Lead Partner: VÁTI NonProfit Ltd • Observer Partner: Ministry for National Economy, Hungary • 7 countries, 16 Partners (4 from Hungary, 1 Bulgaria, 1 from Italy, 3 Romania, 1 Slovakia, 2 Croatia, 4 Serbia) • Ministries give advice and promote implementation; • Development agencies support realisation; • Research and planning organisations undertake the work of analysis, strategy building, pilot planning projects; • The Italian partner shares their experience in riverside tourism development
TARGET GROUPS • All regional development agencies, NGOs and public stakeholders participating directly or indirectly in the project • All regional development agencies , regional and national authorities, local governments, business and civil organisations with potential role and influence upon the future of the DATOURWAY area • Public meetings are addressed to the broad range of stakeholders • Information is provided to the general public on a regular basis (website, publications, press conferences etc.).
