LPC 2009 Big changes afoot LPCs are changing for 2009. We have redesigned our LPC to make it better suit a variety of types of solicitors’ practice and to allow for much more flexibility in the way you can complete the course. • This means that you can: • undertake the whole course, comprising both the compulsory and elective stages, in one go; • complete the compulsory stage first and then pick up the electives at a later date (either on the full-time or part-time LPC); • study the electives in an alternative attendance mode.
LPC 2009 Big changes afoot Our unique ‘pathway’ design allows you to wait until you get here and then decide how to undertake the course so as best to match it to the firm you are going to for a training contract or the area of practice you see yourself undertaking.
Legal Practice Course Pathways How on earth do you decide what electives and pathways to select on Nottingham’s LPC? Well this seeks to help you. First of all you’ve got to decide on the type of firm you are realistically headed for (and want to be headed for). And that means taking account of whether you’ve got a training contract (and thus what the firm says) or if not, what sort of training contract you want to go for. One thing helps quite a lot: once you get here you need to decide pretty quickly whether you want the full corporate route but you can decide on the other pathways a few weeks into the course.
Legal Practice Course This pathway naturally feeds into electives of this sort Broad Based If you take this route through your LPC, we’ve aligned electives to allow you to keep your options open. It’s an excellent choice if you don’t know what type of firm you want to work for; even if you do, it’s an excellent basis as a solid foundation.
