  2. 1. Why are you a Christian? • 1 Peter 3:15-16But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear; 16 having a good conscience, that when they defame you as evildoers, those who revile your good conduct in Christ may be ashamed.

  3. 2. Who is Christ that we acknowledge as Lord? • Colossians 1:15-20. • A. CHRIST THE IMAGE OF GOD • “He is the image of the invisible God” ‐ Colossians 1:15a • B. CHRIST THE FIRSTBORN OF ALL CREATION • “the first-born of all creation” ‐ Colossians 1:15b

  6. 3. Why do you proclaim the Lordship of Christ? • 1. Reaction to the love of God. • 1 Corinthians 9:16 For when I preach the gospel, I cannot boast, since I am compelled to preach. Woe to me if I do not preach the gospel! • 2. Realization about the judgment of God: • Realization of the power of Gospel. • Romans 1:16For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.

  7. Realization of the destiny of people outside Christ • Romans 2:16. This will take place on the day when God judges people’s secrets through Jesus Christ, as my gospel declares. • Realization of there is no other way for salvation. • Acts 4:12 – Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved. • John 14:6 6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

  8. 3. Response to the majesty of God • Isaiah 6:8Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” And I said, “Here am I. Send me!”

  9. 4. A true witness of the gospel of Jesus Christ. • Acts 20:17-22. • How he lived? - serving the Lord with all humility. • How he preached? – Preached the whole counsel of God. • I kept back nothing that was helpful, but proclaimed it to you. • How he taught? – in all context to all people. • Taught you publicly and from house to house, 21 testifying to Jews, and also to Greeks, repentance toward God and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ. • How he was led? - And see; now I go bound in the spirit • How he trusted the Lord? -
