AUTOMATIC TOLL COLLECTION BY USING RFID PRESENTED BY; -Maheshwari.V -Indhumathi.R II EIE M.KUMARASAMY COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING,KARUR

Introduction: • An innovative idea for the automation of TOLL BOOTH collection and provides a best way to track a lost vehicle. • The utilization of the latest technology in the radio signals, which are roboust and simple
Concepts: • The basic concept of this innovative idea is the utilization of the radio frequency signals. • This also involves the use of interface and networking for the tracking and interfacing the client computer to a server
l • RFID is a technology that enables electronic labeling and wireless identification of objects using radio frequency communication. RFID is also a subset of the broader area of automatic identification and capture technologies, (AIDC) which include the more mature barcode, optical character recognition and infrared identification systems
Components: • Tags -Active -Passive • Reader • Modules of Software
Tags: • Tags are the circuits into which identification data can be embedded. • These are devices that identify the item to which they are attached. RFID tags are also called as transponders or more generally contact less data carrier.
They are of two types: • Active tags • Passive tags
Reader & Software Module: • Readers that communicate wirelessly to the tags • The reader is being connected to the receiver which decodes the RF signals and process the vehicle data • Application software that reads, writes data to , from tags through the reader.
Toll gate Design: CLIENT SYSTEM VEHICLE WITH RF TAG RFID READER IR SYSTEM ALARM DATABASE OF THE VEHICLE CENTRALISED SERVER
Software Module: • Client side application • Server side application • Administrative Interface
Program Module: • The clients side application has a timer mechanism. Obtains the vehicle ids for a particular time interval (1 minute) • sends these data to the server system periodically. The server side application, on receiving this will compare it against a database
decides which of the vehicles are not authorized and informs the client side system. The server application not only alerts the client which requested • it identifies all the nearer clients to it and sends an alert message. This helps in identifying the stolen vehicle within a few moment after it is stolen • Timer control in VB will be more helpful to send requests to the server periodically.
Problem Solving: • Nowadays all the readers are imported from other’s country. If the components of the RFID are manufactured in INDIA, then the system cost can easily be reduced. By means of networking the readers, (Two readers are connected to a single client) we can reduce the cost. • By means of suitable algorithm it is possible to provide secured access of data. • By means of proper agreement between the government and the industries, it is possible to provide tags for the new vehicles during the manufacturing stage itself.
ADVANTAGES: • Can operate in both low high frequency • Higher data accuracy • Antennae can be of any type (ie.the user friendly this eliminates the transponder during the reply stage. Minimized errors) • Higher reading SPEED. • Low cost
CONCLUSION: • With its usage, the crime of stealing vehicle may be brought to an end and thereby a new bloom may be expected in the economy of our motherland • The TOLL collection can be completely AUTOMATED
