World Precipitation This map uses isohyets - lines drawn through all points having the same annual precipitation. Isohyets are labeled in cm (in.).
World Climate The climate of a location can be described by its seasonal temperature and precipitation characteristics. The Koppen classification uses these variables to generally classify the Earth's climates. Vladimir Koppen first designed his classification in 1918 and it has been modified many times since then.
