  1. Subject Search How to find a magazine article using the MasterFILE Premier database

  2. Start on the Library home page Click the link to Databases by Subject

  3. Click the link to MasterFILE Premier It is in the first group of database links. If you are at home, the computer will ask for your CSI login now.

  4. Where do I go to look up subject headings? Click the Subjects link in the blue bar at the top of the Basic Search screen.

  5. Type your word in the Browsing box This example brings up an alphabetical list of words and phrases that begin with the word meditation.

  6. Another way to pull up keywords This picture shows subject headings that contain the word meditation. Notice the ones that did not show up before.

  7. Scope note and related headings The scope note tells you what this subject heading is used for. This display also suggests broader, narrower, and related subjects.

  8. How do I find articles? Click the little box to left of any of the subjects, then click the Add button. The headings will appear in the upper search box.

  9. A new results list Click the search button and you’ll see the standard display of article citations that you can choose from.
