This workshop will explore the various roles of the tutor and is intended to address the needs of people with relatively limited teaching experience, who are interested in being able to improve the quality of learning process and outcomes for students. The session will cover: • How Students Learn • Active Learning in Tutorials/small groups • Planning and Designing a Session • Presentation Skills/Lecturing • Assessment - Providing Feedback to Students • Note: This course is a general introduction to teaching (and includes teaching in small groups) and will be of interest to those that want to gain an introduction to session planning and providing feedback to students.
