Where did you find that excellent information… • The work cited page comes at the end of your research paper. • Start the work cited information on a separate page! • It lists all the sources you cited (used) in your paper. • This helps give credit to the person who wrote the information you used and leads a reader to where to find more information if he/she would like. • Your paper is not of high quality without a work cited page! DO NOT LEAVE IT OUT!!!!

  7. What is the difference between a work cited page and bibliography? • Bibliography: contains all works consulted and used in the paper. • Work Cited: contains ONLY the works cited in your paper. For this essay/report, you are required to do a work cited page only.

  8. Have your notecards? • Refer back to your notecards. If you don’t have them, you will have to go back to your sources to get the information to make your work cited page. • If you didn’t use the source in your paper, DO NOT put it on your work cited page. 2 Main Reasons to have a work cited page: • It shows you have done a careful, thorough job of research. • It gives valuable information to readers who are interested in learning more a bout your topic.

  16. Let’s Review Writing a work cited page is optional with a research paper. A work cited page is different from a bibliography in that a work cited page only uses the research noted in the paper. It is a good idea to keep track of sources on a written form or index cards. The work cited page begins a few lines after your final page of your research paper. Having a work cited pages shows that I have done a thorough job of research and helps my reader find more information on the subject if he/she would like.

  17. What to mark complete and how to… All Lessons BUT revise and final draft should be marked from Language 3-Language B if you have done all classes with me. *Make sure you write a rough draft. You are welcome to send this to me for review and suggestion for your final draft. *Make sure you have in text citations! To do this, follow the steps below: • log in to the OLS from your student account. • Go to your Progress tab, click on Language Skills (composition) • On the right, click on the Unit list to expand it. • Click on Unit 2 or 5 the research paper or research report • Click to go into the lesson. Arrow through to the end to mark complete! • Give yourself an hour of attendance time for today in Language skills!
