Horses By: Alissa Roth. mustangs. Wild Horses roam free and don’t belong to anyone. People would illegally sell them to dog food companies. Some became wild because they ran away from their owners. Appaloosa Horse. Appaloosa are know to be stubborn, but are very intelligent.

  2. mustangs • Wild Horses roam free and don’t belong to anyone. • People would illegally sell them to dog food companies. • Some became wild because they ran away from their owners.

  3. AppaloosaHorse • Appaloosa are know to be stubborn, but are very intelligent. • Most Appaloosas have strong legs and hooves and are very sure-footed.

  4. American Quarter Horse • They are very fast, some have been recorded going as fast as 55 miles per hour. • They were named Quarter Horses because they dominated the quarter mile.

  5. Arabian horse • They came from the desert of the middle east. • Genghis Khan, Napoleon, Alexander The Great and George Washington all rode Arabian Horses.

  6. American Paint Horse • Paints were introduced by the Spanish explorers. • Paints are used for barrel racing in rodeos. • Paints were primary horses for Native Americans.

  7. Missourifoxtrotterhorse • They were developed in the Ozark Hills. • They perform very easy. • They are extremely sure-footed so they give the rider little jar.

  8. PALOMINOhorse • Palominos were the choice of ancient emperors, king, and queens. • Queen Isabella de-Bourbon had hundreds of Palominos. • They are used for ranching, racing, rodeos, pleasure riding, parades, shows, fiestas, jumping, trail rides, and all other equine activities.

  9. Thoroughbredhorse • They originated in England. • They can be any color but usually always have white markings. • They can weigh up to 1,100 pounds.

  10. Paso fino horse • Paso Finos are noted for it’s agility, intelligence and hardiness. • For many generations Paso Finos was a Latin breed.

  11. Clydesdalehorse • A full grown Clydesdale can weigh up to 2,200 pounds. • With a seemingly eager gait, Clydesdales always present a positive attitude as it raises it feet cleanly from the ground before continuing with a long stride.

  12. Belgianhorse • In the 15th and 16th cent. the breed was exported from Belgium to many European countries and became popular as a general working horse. • Belgian Horses are husky, with barrel like appearance and brute strength

  13. Gypsyhorse • Gypsies have gentle temperaments around children. • They originated in the U.K and Ireland. • Gypsies are sweetest-natured and kindest of any breed of horse.

  14. FriesianHorse • Friesians are cold-blooded horses. • Their bodies are strong and compact. • They enjoy shoving you with their nose and attention.

  15. FjordHorse • Fjords are a very short breed of horse. • Just because they are short doesn’t mean they are not strong.In fact they are a very strong breed of horse.

  16. PeruvianHorse • "450 years of selective breeding has developed the smoothest naturally gaited horse in the world," say proud Peruvian Horse owners. • They have a four beat gait.
