The Capillary Movement of Different Solutions Group 9 member: PAULAR, Jaynne Lorraine Love Y. MOZO, Danniela Marie F. AQUINO, Anthony Ryan B.
I. Objectives • This study aims to know whether the height of the capillary movement depends on the solution.
II. Materials • Iodine • 2 transparent plastic cups • Cutter • Plant • Ruler • water
III. Procedure • We cut 2 pieces of 11 cm stem of our plant. • We prepared 2 cups with 20 ml of iodine, and iodine with water. • The 2 stems were placed in the plastic cups with different solutions.
We timed the plants in the cup for three minutes. • Then it was observed and measured. • We timed the plants in the cup for six minutes. • Then it was observed and measured.
V. Discussion • Capillary movement • Cohesion • Adhesion • Surface tension
VI. Conclusion It was concluded that the solution iodine with water was seen to rise up more than the iodine and the capillary movement was observed.
