Tornados in America • About 1200 tornados touch down in America each year • On average 100 people in America die from tornados per year • The most powerful and the most tornados occur in America • In 1925 a tornado struck Missouri, Indiana, and Illinois, it caused 219 miles of damage - It was the worst tornado ever recorded - It killed 695 people

  4. How Tornados Form • Are the result of a large thunderstorm called a supercell - caused when cold and warm air combine - hot air rises to the top and creates a spiral cloud
