  3. Aberdeen Country Park Location The Aberdeen Country Park lies on the southern slopes of Hong Kong Island Vegetation Most of the trees in the Aberdeen Country Park area suffered ravages during the Second World War and the Japanese occupation.

  4. Clear Water Bay Country Park • Location Clear Water Bay Country Park has two sections, one on the western side of the peninsula, the other on the eastern. • Characteristics In many ways, the Clear Water Bay peninsula is as beautiful as the nearby Sai Kung and Ma On Shan country parks, but it is unique in its relation to Hong Kong's urban areas.

  5. Kam Shan and Lion Rock Park • Location Kam Shan Country Park is situated to the north of Kowloon. It covers an area of 337 hectares. • Wildlife The area is specially noted for two species of wildlife, the Black-eared Kite and the Long-tailed Macaque. Beacon Hill Lion Rack

Sai Kung Country Park • Location Most of the land surface of Sai Kung Peninsula, except the village areas, is incorporated into two country parks, Sai Kung East and Sai Kung West (including Wan Tsai Extension), with a total area of 7,600 hectares. History The part of Sai Kung beyond Tai Mong Tsai was still remote before 1970, reachable only on foot or by kaito (local ferry).

  7. Lantau Island Country Park • Introduction It has an area of about 14 400 Ha. , 7840 Ha. of which has been designated as Country Parks. Vegetation Natural areas of woodland exist on the Island, principally on the lower slopes of Lantau and Sunset Peaks and both were designated as "Special Areas" in January,

  8. Ma On San Country Park • Location Located in the central neck of the Sai Kung peninsula in the eastern New Territories, this covers 2 880 hectares. Sightseeing Apart from a charming, separate section of the park of the Hebe Haven peninsula, much on the Ma On Shan Country Park is inland.

Pat Sin Leng and Plover Country Park • Landscape Most parts of the Plover Cove Country Parks are dominated by views of water in one direction and by the massive range of hills which bisects the area. • Plants The wooded valleys of the two streams which feed Bride's Pool contain many indigenous species of trees, with scarlet Rhododendron simsii lighting up the valley in spring.

  10. Tai Lam Country Park • Location Tai Lam Country Park is at the west of New Territory with an area of 5,370 hectares. • Geology Apart from a small area of porphyry in the north-east, the remaining area of Tai Lam is composed of highly erodible decomposed granite.
