  6. Day 1:Focused Notes Summary Using the Elaboration/Description writing tool, write a paragraph describing the attitudes expected of a scholar?

  7. Day 2: Essential Question: • How are questioning tools used in focused note-taking and what are some specific details that stand out to you about the 9/11 movie clip we saw?

  8. Questioning Tools Definitions • Using the definitions on the board, copy the next set of questioning tools into your Academic Tool Box.

  9. Thinking Tools Training • Movie Clip: 9/11 • Thinking Tools Training Student Movie Response Details, Convergence, Parallel Students work in pairs to complete worksheet.

  10. Day 2: Focused Notes Summary: • Using Elaboration/Description sentence frames, write a paragraph detailing the events of September 11, 2001. Include what events converged to make the day especially tragic and draw parallels between this day and other events around the world

  11. Day 3: Essential Question • How are the Thinking Tools used in analyzing literature, or events in history?

  14. Day 4- Essential Question • Continued from yesterday • Finish rotations through learning centers.

  15. Day 4- Focused Notes Summary • Using the Elaboration/description writing tool, explain how thinking tools can be used to analyze both works of literature, and events in history?

  16. Day 5- Essential Question • Describe the events of 9/11 through the lens of two thinking tools we used. Be sure to elaborate on the importance of these events on the American people as a whole. • Due at end of period.
