Basics • Lasted from A.D. 800 to 1600. • They lived mostly from the Midwest to the Southeast regions of the United States earning they name Mississippian.
Foods • Mississippians grew most of their food in gardens. They grew corn, beans, squash, and sunflowers among others. • They hunted forest game like deer and turkey.
Houses • The Mississippians mainly used their houses for shelter liking to stay outside as much as possible. • The houses were rectangular or square pole structures.
Tools/Weapons • Used simple tools like stone axes and digging sticks Digging Stick axe
What they are known for • They are known for staying outdoors more. • Each village had a mound in the middle. Villages with more than one mound served as capitals. • Created much pottery, stone architecture, and celt.
