David Crockett • A great story teller • Was a soldier under Andrew Jackson (against the Creeks) • Settlers in TN “frontier” set up a government, he was the judge • Elected to House of Representatives • Wore leather clothes in Washington D.C. • Opposed Jackson’s Indian Removal Act • Left politics and went to Texas to fight in the War with Mexico • Died at the Alamo • Known as “Davy” & “King of the Wild Frontier”
Daniel Boone • Made the first white settlement in Kentucky • Created the Wilderness Trail • Allowed settlers to come to the frontier of TN because of his creation of the Wilderness Trail
