How do pronoun antecedents work, anyway? • A pronoun takes the place of a specific noun you’ve already mentioned. • With the antecedent “That’s what the teachers want you to think”. • Without the antecedent – “That’s what we want you to think”.
Give it a go! • Write down what you think the problem with the following antecedent and pronoun agreement is: • “It could have been more clear”.
