The Eureka Stockade took place in 1854 at Ballarat. The Eureka rebellion led by Peter Lalor who believed that gold diggers deserved better rights. They were paying too much for mining equipment and the Miner’s License. • The revolt was short lived and involved 10,000 miners who gathered at Bakery Hill. • Over 30 people died in the conflict.
