  6. Objective of the monitoring system • Based on some real-time parameters and simple evaluation • decide if the water of the sluice dock should be refreshed. • decide if the water quality in the harbour is good enough to open the sluice doors. • Data for scientific research

Problems encountered so far • Pressure of water very strong • Sabotage , vandalism • Cable in datalogger disconnected • Cost of communication !! • Bad coverage of telecom operator • Harbour works, no room for bouy • Reference level for water, sensor moved • Detection limits for nutrients in winter to low • Public tenders
