WCSD Special Education Services • Special Education Programs for school age children with disabilities include:  • Learning Support • Life Skills Support • Speech/Language Support • Deaf/Hearing Impaired Support • Blind/Visually Impaired Support • Emotional Support • Autistic Support • Related Services may include but are not limited to:  • Speech language support services • Psychological services • Physical and occupational therapy • Transition services • Transportation • Counseling services • Orientation and mobility services • Medical services for diagnostic or evaluation purposes

Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) The IDEA requires each Local Education Agency (LEA), including charter schools to make available a free appropriate public education (FAPE) in the least restrictive environment (LRE) and provide a continuum of placement alternatives for students with disabilities. As part of the Individual Educational Program (IEP) meeting, the IEP team must consider where the special education services will be delivered. Like FAPE, LRE is a determination that must be made on an individual basis
