Eating On Campus • How do restaurants on and around campus draw students in? • When eating there what can you do to limit calories consumed?
Eating On Campus • Looking at the menu provided below what would you typically order? • Guess how many calories you would be consuming • After you are done guessing the calories raise your hand, we will bring you a calorie chart. • Add up all of the calories eaten.
Eating On Campus Continued • With the calories list, create a meal that you believe to be more healthy. • Subtract the first second meal from the first to determine the calories saved.
Eating on campus discussion • Would your second meal be one that you could see yourself eating? • How many calories did you save? • What types of changes did you make to reduce calories? • How did different restaurants try to drive you to the more unhealthy choices?
Eating on a Budget • In groups of 3-4 • You will have a budget of $20.00 • Looking at the menus provided choose 3 meals that add up to a price less than $20.00. • Your goal is to stay under the 2000 calorie per day limit
