BHS Graduation RequirementsCore 40 Diploma = 43 Total Credits English/Language Arts 9 credits • 8 credits: Literature & Composition • 1 credit:Speech Mathematics 6 credits @ HS • 2 credits: Algebra I • 2 credits: Geometry • 2 credits: Algebra II Science 6 credit @ HS • 2 credits: Biology I • 2 credits: Chemistry, Pre-Chemistry I Honors, Pre-AP Physics, Physics, I Honors, or Integrated Chemistry/Physics (ICP) • 2 credits: Any Core 40 science course Social Studies 6 credits • 2 credits: US History or AP US History • 1 credit: US Government or AP Gov’t • 1 credit: Economics or AP Micro • 2 credits: World History, or Geography/History of the World or, AP World History Directed Electives 3 credits • World Languages • Career/Technical • Fine Arts Physical Education 2 credits Health and Wellness 1 credit Practical Arts 1 credit Electives 6 credits 43 total credits

Academic Honors Diploma Recommended by most 4 year Colleges and/or Universities • 2 Additional Core 40 Math Credits beyond Algebra II • 6-8 Core 40 World Language Credits • 2 Credits in Fine Arts • GPA = “B” or Higher / “C-” in Courses that count toward your Diploma • Plus Complete one of the following: • 4 credits in 2 AP Course / 6 Dual Credit Credits (combination) • 26 ACT Score (Composite) • 1750 SAT Score (Composite) sub scores of 530 of higher

Important Items to remember Non-negotiable courses for Freshman: • English: English 9 or English 9 Honors • Math: Appropriate sequential math course (p.47 POS) • Science: Biology, Chemistry, Pre-AP Biology II Honors • Social Studies: Completion of 2 credits of social studies at the conclusion of 10th grade year (*AP World History) • Physical Education – 2 Semesters Recommended courses for Freshman: • World Language • Preparing for College and Careers (New - Microsoft Office)
