  2. What we said we would do: Create a model articulated 7-12 pathway

  3. For the Secondary Pipeline we said we would: • Develop and share research, curriculum, curricular materials and other supports. - Curriculum frameworks with targeted proficiency levels for each level - Curricular and other supporting materials

  4. We also said we would: 3) Work as a consortium to develop and implement a strong professional development program for teachers in the Flagship pipelines.

  5. Plus we said we would: 4) Establish an infrastructure to support and expand the Flagship consortium. - Management - Coordination - Communication - Dissemination

  6. We said we would: Take advantage of this unique opportunity to collect data on large numbers of students • student progress • program improvement • research • reporting on F-CAP

  7. And we said we would: 5) Establish K-16 partnerships to enhance the numbers and quality of students entering the Flagships. • Flagship outreach • Development of diagnostic placement assessments to articulate K-16

  16. The Contents of the Box- PROFICIENCY TARGETS Developed and being tested for every grade level 7-12 in Chinese.

  17. The Contents of the Box- CURRICULUM • A collaborative Teacher Advisory Council established. • Working on a consortium curriculum map. • Projecting that Years 1-2 will be completed by end of year 3.

  18. The CURRICULUM Map • Assessments for three modes of communication. • I Can statements for each level. • Guidelines for vocabulary, grammar, and culture. • Lesson plans with video demonstrations.

  19. Web-based Materials to Support the Curriculum • A collection of videos of activities with support materials for teachers. • A Collection of lesson plans to accompany the curriculum map

  20. Web-based Materials will also include: • Technology resources: Activity sheets, Flash cards, Videos, Songs, Links to Youtubeand other sites…

  21. Assessment • Language Assessments - Collaborating with ACTFL for AAPPL - BYU developing assessments for the consortium • Student and teacher surveys -to share information across the consortium
