  3. Definition • A Terminator is a fiber termination with the lowest possible back reflection • A Terminator perform high Return Loss, good environmental stability and long working life • A protection for open connections

  4. The solution • Based on doped attenuating fiber SMF Att-F Break Light -45dB -14dB Min. -45dB Total: Min. -104 dB

  5. In real terms • Mechanic and geometry of the standard connectors • Pre-centered crimped ferrule without additional alignment • Standard polishing process (PC or APC) • Strongly attenuated fiber, minimum 15 dB/cm • Simply cleaved fiber at the end of the “alberino”

  16. Definition • A Reflector is normally used as a fiber termination with the highest possible back reflection • The reflection is performed by a perfect polished nickel alloy ferrule end face • High reliability and repeatability
