Library Hours • February - November:Monday - Thursday 8.30am – 6pm Friday 8.30am - 5pm • December - January:Monday - Friday 8.30am - 5pm Note: The Library is not open at weekends

How to Get Here • TRAM No. 19 from Flinders Street/Elizabeth Street Alight at Stop No. 10 (Royal Parade) • TRAM No. 59 from Flinders Street/Elizabeth Street Alight at Stop No. 14 (Flemington Road) • TRAM No. 55 from William Street Alight at Stop No. 14 (Flemington Road) Note: Parking is available at commercial rates on site at the RMH (enter from Royal Parade)
Services • Your Library Card is the key to all library services. Use your card to: • Borrow/renew/reserve items • Photocopy/print • Request journal articles/book extracts • Request books from other libraries • Request literature searches • Access all electronic resources
Loans • 5 items at a time • Loan period varies from overnight to 3 Weeks • Items (except for reserve/overnight collection) may be renewed once, unless that item is already overdue, or another borrower has reserved it • Renew online, by phone, or at the Library Counter • Charges apply to overdue items
Photocopying/Printing • Your library card may be used to print and photocopy in the Library • Black and white, 15c per A4 copy • You can add credit to your card using the Autoloader near the copiers or at the Library Counter
When/How to Renew your Membership • Membership Expiry Library memberships will expire and require renewal: Staff • after 1 year for permanent Staff • if you move physical location with your position • if you indicate an end date on your membership form Students • at the end of each academic year, or at the end of your placement Nurse Bank • every 6 months • Renewing your Membership • RMH/RWH Members – call the Library on 9342 8617 during opening hours • Mental Health Members Click Here

Search the Catalogue – Quick Search Click on “try this search in the Combined RMH, NH and WH Catalogue” to re-run the same search on the combined holdings Click on title for full entry or note call number for location on library shelves Enter the author or title of the item and click “enter” or “ok Click on “Show Network Display” to see all copies held In the Combined Catalogue
Search the Catalogue – Advanced Search Narrow your search by entering all the information you have Limit your search by choosing a specific Collection Use Library Barcode to access Note item status
Place a Reservation Click on “Place Reservation”
My Library Account - Summary Renew one of your items or all items Click on “Current loans” to renew books. Overdue loans cannot be renewed.

Search for a Journal Title - Interface Note: Must be exact spelling. American or British spelling? e.g. Gynecology or Gynaecology? Hematology or Haematology?
Search for a Journal Title - Results Type exact journal title and click on search Print holdings - ongoing Embargo – current 6 months not available Electronic holdings - ongoing RMH/Mental Health patrons only/RWH patrons need to request
Search for a Journal Title – Advanced Search This search will retrieve any journals with the words “obstetrics” and gynecology” in the title
Search for a Database Your Library barcode is on the front of your library card No barcode needed if you are onsite at the Royal Melbourne Hospital Athens Login available via Clinicians Health Channel
Clinicians Health Channel Register to receive your Athens login (username and password) to access all CHC resources both onsite and offsite

Training Drop-In Training Sessions • Drop-in training sessions are held at the library twice a week on a variety of topics – see the Library Website for details • These sessions are designed to give busy staff an opportunity to squeeze in a short how-to session during a break or over lunch • All training is held in the Library Computer Room • 15-30 minute sessions - no bookings necessary One-on-One or Group Training Sessions • To organise any training sessions, contact the Library • Come to the Library, book the Computer Room or we will come to you at your office or workplace
