  2. Rule #1 The class has a well defined starting and ending time. The classroom is not your local fast food restaurant where you can come and go as you please! Class Decorun GVK

  3. Rule #2 Take care of your physical needs Before entering the classroom. The classroom is is not a day care center! Class Decorun GVK

  4. Rule #3 The classroom is not the cafeteria! Your mother is not here to clean after you! Class Decorun GVK

  5. Rule #4 The classroom is NOT a telephone booth! Ringing telephones are a distraction to all who are here to learn. If you are expecting an emergency call, do us all a favor and stay home! Class Decorun GVK

  6. Rule #5 The classroom is not an Internet Café! There is an Internet Café across the street for your text-messaging and personal e-mail needs! Text-messaging is a distraction to you and to the others around you who are here to learn. Class Decorun GVK

  7. Rule #6 The classroom is NOT a nightclub! Other people don’t care about your taste in music! Put telephones and all other entertainment equipment out of sight and out of mind before entering the classroom. Class Decorun GVK

  8. Rule #7 The classroom is not a playpen! The child development center is at the southwest corner of the campus. Drop the high school attitude, this is college! Class Decorun GVK

  9. Rule #8 The classroom is not affiliated with Club Med! If you are looking for an economical vacation, Santa Cruz is only 30 miles south from here! How you sit tells a lot about you! Class Decorun GVK

  10. Rule #9 The classroom is not your bedroom! For a comfortable place to sleep, there are several motels down the street! Nobody learned anything sleeping! Besides your snoring distracts the rest of us who are here to learn. Class Decorun GVK

  11. Rule #10 The classroom is not a comedy club! If you are bored, don’t waste your time, and ours, listening to this useless stuff. Being a student means being an alert participant in the learning process. Class Decorun GVK

  12. Rule #11 The classroom is not the Fleishhacker Zoo! Yawning loudly is neither cute nor appropriate human behavior! Cover your mouth! Nobody cares about your dentist’s handiwork! Class Decorun 12 GVK

  13. Rule #12 The classroom is not the British Parliament! If you want to talk in class, Get your own class. Class Decorun GVK

  14. Reminder #13 The classroom is not a public forum! If you want to argue, join the debate society. Class Decorun 14 GVK

  15. Rule #14 If you have the “I don’t know and I don’t care” attitude … YOU are wasting your time being in college. Class Decorun 15 GVK

  16. Rule #15 “There are only 24 hours in a day! Plan accordingly. Otherwise, school or work or both will suffer! Class Decorun GVK
