Mixture – combination of substances that can be separated by physical means • Heterogeneous mixture • Homogeneous mixture • Solution – another name for homogeneous mixture • Solute – substance that seems to disappear • Solvent – substance that dissolves the solute • Solid, liquid, and gaseous solutions
