What • The Europeans whipped TeAra because he wouldn’t do what was told of him; because he thought he was of higher rank than them. So when TeAra got back, he showed his tribe and they killed the Europeans on the Boyd.
Who • The BOYD was attacked by a group Maori and the European Whalers avenged them by trying to take TePahi prisoner.
How • The Europeans whipped TeAra because he wouldn’t do what was told of him; because he thought he was of higher rank than them. So when TeAra got back, he showed his tribe and they killed the Europeans on the Boyd.
Why • A young chief named TeAra was whipped on the back several times by the BOYD boat. This TeAra told his tribe.
