  1. Laneway House And Its Various Designs Laneway house is a growing into a very popular type of housing in recent times. As the land scarcity is becoming more and more with more and more people coming into the urban areas, therefore the housing has been a big problem and with laneway housing coming into play, it can have a great impact in giving a solution to the existing housing problem. It may not solve the housing problem entirely but it will indeed solve it to a great extent.

  2. A laneway house is permitted as secondary housing to the existing primary house. It is hence, very beneficial for the owner of the primary house too. Since they can rent these houses, the laneway house becomes an additional source of income also which will help in his financial backbone. On the other hand, people who are seeking a house will also get relieved as they will find cheaper houses for rent compared to regular ones where the price is sky high. There are a few design principles that one needs to follow in order to build a laneway house. First and foremost is, there is minimum land required to build a laneway house. One just can't go out there and build a laneway house as there are norms in it. Secondly, the house must have some kind of lane associated with it. This road could a road leading up to the main street or the laneway house could be opened to the street but the laneway house must have its own road or street.

  3. There should be the minimum distance between the adjacent houses. You have to keep a minimum distance between the houses for safety reasons and minimum separation must be around 5m from the primary houses. Another requirement for laneway house while designing it is, a parking space must be dedicated to it. Without it, you may not get a permission to build a laneway house design and it will fail the procedures.
