IMD 2004 • 1st in Warks for lone parents • 2nd in Warks for unemployment • 3rd in Warks for income deprivation • 10th lowest educational achievement in Warks • 16th in Warks for skills deprivation • Highest concentration of young people in Warwickshire, but still in bottom 30% in England for health deprivation

  14. Lessons for Other Deprived Areas • Communities are different and will require a different approach. • Community Development works. • Tackle causes not just symptoms. • Need to assess the data. • Need a long term view.
