  1. INSIGHT POLICY RESEARCH, INC. Overview of the Data Collection Plan for Evaluating the Combating Autism Act Initiative and MCHB Training programs

  2. Purpose • To evaluate the effectiveness of the LEND and DBP Training programs in meeting the goals and objectives of the Combating Autism Act Initiative. • We will conduct independent evaluations of each training program.

  3. Overview of Methodology • Quantitative Data Collection • NIRS new module • LEND: Grantees awarded CAAI funds in FY 09 will be asked to report in 09 and 2010; other grantees will be asked to report in 2010. • DBP: the 6 programs awarded CAAI funds in FY 09 will be asked to report in 09 and 2010. Other DBPs will not be asked to report. • Additional quantitative data may be obtained from the EHB.

Overview of Methodology • Qualitative Data Collection • Summary progress reports • For grantees awarded CAAI funds in FY 09, we will extract data from summary progress reports for FY 2009 and 2010. • In-depth interviews • LEND: 22 grantees will be interviewed in 09; all will be interviewed in 2010. • DBP: 6 CAAI grantees awarded CAAI funds in FY 09 will be interviewed in 09 and 2010. • OMB Clearance request for In-depth interviews
