  3. Antagonist The Capitol • In control over the districts • Districts lost a rebellion against the capitol • As punishment they require one boy and one girl from each district to compete in the Hunger Games.

  4. Favorite Character Haymitch Abernathy • Middle aged man • Victor of the 50th Hunger Games • Only survivor from District 12 • Mentor for Peeta and Katniss • Sarcastic

  5. Least Favorite Character Effie Trinket • Cheerful woman • Wears colorful wigs (usually hot pink) • Effie reaps the names of the tributes in District 12 and escorts them • Fussy over appearances and manners • Does all she can to make sure Katniss and Peeta survive

  6. Exposition • Katniss and Peeta have returned back to District 12. • They have won the Hunger Games. • President Snow visits with Katniss and is mad at her for the way the games ended. • It created rebellion.

  7. Rising Action • 75th Hunger Games • Victors are sent back to the arena to fight again. • Katniss and Peeta join up with other Victors: • Finnick, Mags, Beetee, and Wiress. • Find out the Arena is set up like a clock

  8. Climax • Katniss shoots an arrow at the force field around the arena • Wakes up being transported to District 13 (thought to not exist) • Plan between most contestants to break out of the arena • District 12 has been destroyed
