This is the agenda for today's science class in Room D3. Students are expected to come prepared with their class syllabus, signed safety contract, and required supplies. Classroom expectations, consequences, and procedures are also outlined. Tutoring and grading information is provided, along with reminders about extra credit, cheating, and the care of classroom animals. The website www.coachpease.com is recommended for staying up-to-date on class work.

Daily Required Supplies • Science Journal • Pen / Pencil that works • Charged Chrome Book • Hand Held Pencil sharpener • Completed Homework • Ready to Learn Attitude
Tutoring Tuesday 8:15 am to 8:45 am (Coach will pick up students at 8:10am in small gym only) Wednesday 5 pm to 6 pm (every other Wednesday, starting Sept. 5, 2018)
Class Expectations • 1. Have all appropriate materials and supplies at your table and be seated when the bell rings • 2. Respect the people, animals, equipment and furnishings of room D3 • 3. Follow Directions the first time they are given
Class Expectations Cont. • 4. Stay in your seat unless you have permission to do otherwise • 5. Raise your hand and wait for permission to do otherwise • 6. Do NOT TEXT, eat, drink, or chew anything in class • 7. Be on time to class, EVERYDAY! • 8. Come to learn, Not Play! (This is not daycare!)
Consequences • 1. Warning verbal or non-verbal, name on board • 2. Documented Warning / Parent Contact • 3. Stop and Call Parent during Class • 4. Referral to Assistant Principal
Class Procedures Entering the room • Enter SILENTLY with all personal business already taken care of. • Sharpen Pencil (before the bell) • Collect “Please Do Now” Handout (blue basket) • Sit SILENTLY in assigned seat • Work on the “Do Now” • Waite for further directions
Group Work • Listen to teacher directions silently • Work as a team in a quiet, indoor fashion • Everyone has a specific job • Everyone helps clean up area • Keep on topic / not social time • Keep conversations to own table (not across tables) • Respect all members when working in a group • * Class suggestions
Turn in Work • Location of Turn in Baskets, book shelf by classroom door • Teacher will/may collect as a group • Or, Student will be asked to put work into Class Period Turn In Basket • Baskets are labeled by class period • If you choose to not put your work in the correct basket it is the same as not turning it in at all. • If you choose to not put your name / period on the paper it is the same as not turning it in at all.
End of Class / Exit the Room • Each person in group will help clean up desk area • 1 person will collect completed work and turn it into correct basket for a grade • 1 Person will empty the trashcan into the large trash can if full due to lesson • Teacher will release, not the bell • We will walk out of the room

Grades • Posted Weekly on wall behind class door by ID#
Grading / Missing Assignments • 1. Make up work will not be given(students responsible to turn in work on time with name at top of assignment) • 2. Missing / Late work may be made up at Tutoring Tues. 8:15am to 8:45am / Wednesday (every other) 5pm to 6pm Remember…. • NO Name=NO Grade
Extra Credit • ONLY 1 major project per 6 Weeks • Teacher will pass out at beginning of 6 weeks / will post on website • To be done at home, questions may be asked during tutoring times • Late projects will NOT be accepted
Cheating • Automatic U for Conduct • Automatic 0% with no opportunity to make up • Cheating includes but not limited to: • Copying information from another student • Copying from an encyclopedia, internet, ect. • Allowing someone else to copy your work
Things to Look For • Bi-Weekly Science only Progress reports, via email • Daily notes/lesson in science journal • Vocabulary for student to study daily, in journal
Animals Guinea Pigs (2 females) Do NOT handle without permission • Do NOT feed them anything without teacher permission • Anyone who mis-treats an animal in a negative/harmful manner on purpose will have charges pressed against them. • Animal Cruelty is against the law in the USA.
