Facilitator to make sure everyone has a say and keeps to time 2. Someone to capture the key issues on the flipchart and feedback 3 or 4 key issues from the discussions to the whole group.30 minutes for discussion then feedback
Inclusion Table - Discussion Questions • What are the key competences of inclusive leaders that contributes to the effective engagement of citizens? • What do you find difficult/challenging that hinders the engagement of citizens in your workplace? • What practical steps (three to four) will you take to overcome the difficulties/challenges?
Talent Table - Discussion Questions • How can leaders learn from citizens and the talent in local communities? • Where do you think you are now (good examples welcome) in relation to engaging local citizens and where do you want to be? • What are two practical steps you will take to tap into to local citizens that will make a difference?
System - Discussion Questions • What are the system leadership behaviours required for the future to enable inclusion and citizen leadership? • How would you ensure that inclusion and citizen leadership is embedded across the system, places and spaces? • What are two practical steps you will take to implement the above that will make a difference?
Health and Wellbeing - Discussion Questions • How would you go about supporting the health and wellbeing of citizens from diverse backgrounds in a changing system context? • What tools/techniques would you use to promote/support citizen wellbeing? • What practical steps can you take as leaders in creating the conditions where citizens can help themselves and you in relation to health and wellbeing during times of change and transition?
Success Factors : Citizen Leadership Programme Six Success Factor (SF) that we identified: 1: Involve local BAME Womangroups, organisations and decision makers in the programme. Start with focus groups of six to seven but no more than 10 to co-design the programme. 2: Involve diverse facilitators as role modelsthat have the experience and personal knowledge of BAME to facilitate the programme. 3: Regenerating the communitygiving something back to local people by using the local community venues that are familiar with the participants.
4: Work in Partnershipwith local/regional community organisation. 5 Evaluatebefore, during and after each programme day. This allows facilitators to gauge participants’ confidence and progress during the two days.
6: Recognition: Provide a certificate of attendance. This provides a record of their contribution and helps them to add to their CVs as evidence of their positive contribution to the programme.
