  5. Main feedback • Imbalance of commitment and demand • Needs for more quality/reliability, variety, accessibility, timely of statistics • Statistical Master Plan (SMP) should at least respond to the indicator need of National Strategic Development Plan (NSDP) • It is important to educate data users on the use of data/statistics. A strong call for NIS to educate statistics • Needs for sub-national disaggregated statistics on education, rural development, poverty, infrastructure, basic facilities, etc. • Need to have line-ministry budget, and capacity building in SMP

  6. Contributing Outcomes • From unnecessary to necessity • NIS has been a single organization that produce official statistics • SMP to be evolved to NSDS for mainstreaming into NSDP • Statistics Law and its sub decree for sustainable statistical development is being developed for approval • Statistical Advocacy Material to publish for further raising awareness and contribution to statistics

  7. Prevailing Challenges • From necessity comes demand on statistics in quantity, with quality, timely, and accessibility; nationally, regionally, and internationally • Developing and mainstreaming NSDS need consensus and resource • Adopting amended Statistics Law and its prioritized sub decree is a long process, esp. when it comes to limited national resource • On Capacity: for quality and timely statistics comes the question Who. It is important to have more statisticians with master degree and PhD degree for qualified statistics
