  2. Who is He? Sir Peter Blake was a New Zealand Yachtsman who won the ‘Whitbread Around the world race’. He lived from 1 October 1948- 6 December 2001.

  4. How did he become famous in the first place? He became famous after he won the ‘Whitbread Around the world race’ , and he was the first New Zealander to do that.

  5. Where did the Red socks fit in? • His wife gave a pair of red socks as for good luck. Every time he wore them, he won. Every time he didn’t wear them, he lost . New Zealanders wear them as a sign of support.

  6. What did he get involved in? • He became involved in helping environmental change in the Amazon. He also focused on sea animals.
