  2. Questions To Ask Before We Decide On Methods Of Primary Research • What do we want to discover? • How do we plan on discovering it? • Who are we going to talk to and survey? • How can we ensure that our biases are not reflected in our research methods?

The General Publics Top 50 Thriller movies • There are over 21,653 thrillers listed on the internet movies database. • http://www.imdb.com/chart/thriller • Out of the list of 50 films, 9 of them are from this decade. • These results are based on statistics produced and posted on the internet movies database.

  6. Sub-genres of the lowest rated thrillers • Out of these films, eight of them were made this decade. • These results are based on a survey conducted on the internet movies database (imdb)

Our First Survey… • The first survey that we conducted was around school. • We asked people what, in their opinion, is their favourite thriller sub-genre. • We used a sheet which contained a description of each sub-genre, and also included some examples. • We asked 27 people in total. • There were both advantages and disadvantages to this method.

New And Improved survey… • After taking all of the faults of the previous survey into account, we made a new survey to give out. • This survey establishes many things: • An estimate age of the person filling in the survey • Their preferred age of characters. • And of course their favorite sub-genre!

How We Answered The Questions First Presented • What did we want to discover?We wanted to gain some form of background knowledge surrounding various different people’s preferences regarding thriller movies. • How we were planning on discovering it?We scoured the internet and gave out surveys to people of all different ages and backgrounds in order to get a wide range of accurate results. • Who are we going to talk to and survey?We spoke to many different people from all walks of life in order to get a wide range of results. • How can we ensure that our biases are not reflected in our research methods?We made sure that when we gave people the surveys that they were in no way influenced by us. We stayed away while they filled in the forms to ensure we did not pressure them in any way.

  17. Different Genres Of The favorite Films given • The final thing we did in regards to this survey is to compare what people voted as there favorite genre to the genre of the movies that they claimed were their favorite.

Conclusion Of Survey • The most popular Sub-genre was Spy, closely followed by Crime. • However the films that people claimed were their favorite indicated that action and crime were the most popular. • The least popular sub-genres according to the first question were Eco and legal. • The least popular, according to the different sub-genre of films given are legal and medical. • In total 27 people took part in this survey. • These people were all age 16 and above
