FCCLA STANDS FOR: Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America
Fccla Is: • A national student organization that helps young men and women become strong leaders in their families, careers, and communities! • FCCLA is the largest youth organization with the FAMILY as its central focus! • Members who are currently or have been enrolled in a Family and Consumer Sciences course (Life Skills, Teen living, Foods, Parenting & Child Development, Interior Design)can be in FCCLA

FCCLA History • Discovered it’s voice as Future Homemakers of America (FHA) in 1945 • In 1999 the organization’s name changed to FCCLA to more accurately reflect the organization's mission

District Voice • 8 districts in North Carolina -We are District 5! -Sarah Bullinsfrom South Stokesis our district state officer! • District Conferences: • Held in the fall • Workshops • Inspirational Speakers • Fun time!!!
Local Voice • Be a Class Representative! • Attend Meetings -Chapter Meetings -Social Events -Community Service Events • Speak out about FCCLA
Discover your Voice • Nationally Affiliated Members: -pay national FCCLA dues can run for office, attend district, state and national conferences -can use the membership on a résumé or college applications. • Local Members: -Can participate in local chapter activities
Cost of Dues • $20 • Due to Mrs. Cooper, Mrs. Derioun, Gabriela Garcia, or Andrea Deras by October 1st! • Please fill out FCCLA contact sheet and turn in with your money
How do you get there? • You make a project • Compete at states • If you win in the top 2 places at state from each category you make it to nationals!!!
