Transferring Data from XL-30 PC to Dell PC Using Link Maven
Saving Your Data on XL-30 • Only faculty and staff may have their own directories on the XL-30 computer. • All other users must use directory “aaa-data” on the d drive. • When the session is finished users must transfer their data from the XL-30 PC to the Dell PC. • This short presentation explains how to do this.
Open Link Maven on the XL-30 • Close the XL-30 Microscope control and EDAX control. • Find the “Link Maven” icon in the “Main” group in the “Program Manager.” Double click to open.
Opening Link Maven - XL30 • When Link Maven opens the screen will switch to a short opening screen. • Then the screen will go dark except for message indicating that the program is running. • If you wish to exit Link Maven from the XL-30 computer, press ESC.
Opening Link Maven – Dell PC • Double click the Link Maven icon. It is on the desktop.
Link Maven – Connect • When the Link Maven window opens, double click the “connect” icon. It should take just a few moments for the computers to synchronize.
Transfer files • Move the files from the XL-30 PC to the Dell PC. • NOTE: Before opening Link Maven on the Dell PC you can insert a flash disk into a USB port. Then you can transfer your data directly to your flash disk.
Disconnect • When file transfer is complete (this is not real fast), disconnect the computer communication using the icons in the Link Maven window on the Dell PC. • You now have your data transferred.
