Hotel Information System Graham Hughes with FireFly-IT The Technology The system is written in PHP, and uses a MySQL database, which is all hosted on a Debian GNU/Linux server. The design is based on HTML and CSS. Secure booking will be implemented using a 128-bit encrypted web page. The Overview An easy to install, web-based administration system for hotels has been created by a small company. The front-end provides online booking for customers via the hotel’s website. Hotel staff use the Administration Site. This alleviates a common issue whereby hotels’ have separate systems for online bookings and “front desk” bookings. The current system, however, needs to be extensively developed. • The Aims AreTo Develop: • A Calendar Module (shown) for better management of bookings • A Special Offers Module that will dynamically change content on the hotel’s website • An overhauled, secure, user-friendly booking interface • A Customer Relationship Management Module for targeted marketing. Calendar Module This overview indicates number of bookings per day. Days can be selected (shown with blue background) to display bookings, and to make bookings. Bookings made online are unconfirmed until until reviewed by hotel staff. (See Left)
